Are You Looking To Transform Dry Dull Facts into Captivating Family History Stories That Everyone Will Want To Read? Then You’re In The Right Place. Share Incredible Stories With The Curious Descendants Club.
Yes? Then you understand how hard it is
to get hands on practical advice and guidance.
I was fed up of seeing people struggle to find support that specifically catered for the
unique challenges we face when we write about real people living in the past. I wanted a place where you can:
Thankfully I have the solution…
The Club is an exclusive community for family history lovers that want to write ancestral stories.
It’s jam packed with detailed, practical lessons, challenges, and workbooks, covering everything from getting started, to adding historical detail, to mastering creative writing techniques.
And it’s got the best community in the whole world (ok I may be biased), but seriously the Curiosities are an incredibly friendly and supportive bunch!
I’m a self confessed history geek, story lover and Mum of 3 living in the beautiful Somerset countryside in the UK. I started tracing my family tree when I was 18, whilst studying for a degree in English Lit. I told you I love stories, right!? I spent long nights devouring many classic novels. Stories by social commentators (like Charles Dickens) fuelled my interest in discovering the lives of my ancestors – and helped me to understand their world.
After Uni I had a career in Project Management, before embarking on Motherhood and the start of my genealogy business, offering research services.
It was whilst helping other research their ancestors that I realised just how many people struggle to write their ancestors stories AND as my network of family history friends grew, I realised the huge benefits gained from working with others…thus the Curious Descendants Club was born.
Getting to know you (and your ancestors) better helps me to continue to deliver lessons and content that meets your needs. Your comments, and the discussions in the Community, help shape the courses created, workshops delivered and challenges provided. This is your membership, not mine!
The Club was built, tweaked and refined based on the feedback of family history lovers just as passionate about their ancestors’ stories as you.
For the price of a takeaway each monthy you can enjoy…
I’m sure you’ll love The Curious Descendants Club just as much as I do. In fact, if for any reason you’re not completely satisfied, then let me know within 14 days for a monthly membership or 30 days for annual membership. I’ll issue a full refund. No questions asked. No ifs and buts. Requests for refunds must be made in writing via the ‘Support’ contact form within the Curious Descendants Club member’s portal or via email. Refunds will be made via PayPal. No hard feelings, we’ll part as friends and I’ll wish you all the best with your family history journey!
There’s a lot going on in the Club, but you don’t have to do it all! One workshop alone is worth more than the cost of the monthly membership fee. That said, I do think the Club works best when you have a minimum of about 4 hours a month to dedicate to learning and practising how to write.
Currently events alternate between taking place at either 10am or 6pm London time. I’ve found this has worked for the vast majority of participants – there are Club members from Australia, New Zealand, East and West Coast USA and Alaska!
This membership is best for people that are passionate about their ancestors’ stories – and those that really want to understand their ancestors’ lives by exploring the time and place within which they lived. It doesn’t matter if you are a genealogy beginner, an expert or somewhere in between. It doesn’t matter if you have never written a thing or if you have published a book. So long as you are care about your ancestors’ stories and want to practice your writing skills, then this is the Club for you.
